Beautiful blue flag beach at Coldingham and others nearby. Perfect for a family day out paddling, making sandcastles or exploring rock pools.
You could also try your hand at surfing. Coldingham also offers local shops, post office, pubs serving food and the historic Coldingham Priory.
A popular area with walkers and nature lovers. The Southern Upland Way is at nearby Cockburnspath. St Abbs head nature reserve is just three miles away, fabulous walks and thousands of seabirds.
Diving is very popular off the Berwickshire coast and there are a couple of dive centre’s nearby. Your chance to explore the underwater nature reserve at St Abbs or take a boat trip up the coast to view the stunning cliffs.
Golf courses in abundance at Eyemouth, Berwick, Goswick, Dunbar, Duns and Coldstream to name but a few.
If castles are what you like then Alnwick and Bamburgh are within an hours drive south or Edinburgh 1 hour north. Alternatively, why not walk to Fast Castle to experience the stunning ruggedness and beauty of the Berwickshire coast.
Whilst in the historic capital city of Scotland, Edinburgh, you could also take a trip to one of several theatres, a variety of shops, Princess St Gardens, Botanic Gardens, Edinburgh Zoo, Royal Yacht Britannia and various museums or why not have a guided tour around the Dungeons and see what went on in days of long ago.
The Border towns of Jedburgh, Selkirk, Hawick, Galashiels, Coldstream, Duns and Kelso are all within easy reach for days out and have their own attractions and Abbeys.
Historic country houses are easy to visit at Paxton House, Manderston and Mellerstain.
Or, if you fancy something more local, visit Eyemouth with its town museum, boat museum and Gunsgreen House, as well as fishing harbour, local shops, beach, pubs and of course fish & chip shops and ice creams in flavours you won’t have thought of before!
Younger family members might like a trip to Conundrum farm to see the animals or East Links farm at Dunbar with its animals and vast play areas.
